In general, retired uniformed service members and their families who were eligible for the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP) are eligible for Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) dental coverage and, if enrolled in a TRICARE health plan, FEDVIP vision coverage. In addition, family members of active duty uniformed service members who are enrolled in a TRICARE health plan are eligible for FEDVIP vision coverage. Coverage is effective January 1, 2019, if you enroll during the Federal Benefits Open Season.
FEDVIP Eligibility Tool
Use our eligibility tool to determine if you are eligible for FEDVIP. We will ask you a few questions and then tell you if you are eligible to enroll in FEDVIP dental coverage, FEDVIP vision coverage, or both.
Active duty uniformed service members: You are not eligible to enroll in FEDVIP. Your dental and vision coverage will still be provided by TRICARE. And, your family members will still be eligible to enroll in the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP).
Federal and U.S. Postal Service (USPS) employees and retirees: Your eligibility to enroll in FEDVIP is not impacted. This tool is only meant for newly eligible members of the uniformed services to determine if they are eligible for FEDVIP.
